Status quo

Listen up people, an "Engagement" is when you let everyone know that you and a certain someone are a couple. It means that whoever is against the relationship has the freedom to come up and say "Look here man, She's mine!! Let's wallop each other" or something on those lines...

There is no documentation, just exchanging of engagement rings maybe. An engagement can be broken off, as there is no official record; it's just an understanding between the couple ....

A "Registration" is when you sign on the dotted line. It official, you both are married. According to Sri Lankan customs this is done at an official nekath time, on a seperate day or after the Poruwa ceremony on your wedding day. After this, the only way you can seperate is by an offiicial divorce....

Why oh why can't Sri Lankans understand this??
I'm so friggin fed up of seeing people on FB say that they are engaged to so and so, when they really have had their official wedding registration....

WELL..... I really am flabbergasted at the amount of activity the blogosphere seems to radiate these days... I'm back after a long long time and there seems to be so many threats and insults and malicious comments flying around, I have to duck at every click.
Some one's been robbed, someone's been sick, some have been on trips down south (hmph :P ) someone has got married and two have flown away...the list is endless...

While I'm really happy that my fellow srilankan bloggers are so full of zip, it WOULD be nice if this animosity would end here.. wouldn't it??
